Here is a little background on how we met…
Kathy and Rai met at their kids’ school through some mutual friends. They connected over their passion for politics and navigating parenthood. Since they are relatively new friends, and from two different generations, it’s like we are all getting to know each other together in this community asking, Are we the only ones thinking this…?

Kathy Tran Wilson started out as an Admin Director for various corporations in different sectors. She headed up Admin for Tech Startups, Law firms, Engineering firms, before pivoting in the fashion world. She started her career designing for couture legend Richard Tyler. Then launching her own line, Kathy Wilson Atelier (KWA), in 2009. Stevie Wonder helped launch the brand when he commissioned her to design a jacket for him to wear at Obama’s first White House Correspondents’ Dinner. It became one of the most photographed looks of the night. She continued dressing American Icons like Michelle Pfeiffer, Diplo, Sophia Bush, and Adam Lambert. Her TV credits include, Access Hollywood, The Insider, and Sundance’s All On The Line with Joe Zee.
Motherhood shifted her focus. After experiencing traumatic loss in childbirth, she stepped away from fashion and dove into women’s political advocacy. She joined Vote Run Lead (a bi-partisan non-profit that trains women to run for office, and win). She was asked to become the Co-chair for their Leadership Council in 2020.
Rai Lithiluxa was born and raised in the midwest (Columbus, Ohio, to be specific). She has deep roots with her friends and family that she is extremely proud of. She’s had a long career in the beauty industry as a bridal makeup artist and working for some of the biggest brands like Tarte Cosmetics and Neutrogena to name a few. She’s also a licensed advanced esthetician that LOVES a good skincare regimen. Anytime and anywhere you can talk to her about skincare (seriously, send her a message)! In her 30s she spread her wings and relocated to Los Angeles, CA.
Now living in a city with few friends and family nearby, Rai has shifted her focus to being the best millennial mom that she can be to her three amazing kids. She sowing seeds and growing new roots in the beautiful community of LA, while learning about getting politically involved in a new city with zero connections. Intimidating, am I right? Midwest morals in a big city. Grow with her and learn how you too can advocate at the local level no matter the issue.
